    DEMO GARDEN IN BALYKCHY

19th of April Balykchy branch moved to a new office building. Together with a new building Balykchy staff got a large piece of land piled with garbage and stones. It was decided to turn this abandoned land into a garden! But it will be not an ordinary garden. It is planned to make a demonstration garden, where Kompanion’s clients can get practical skills on gardening.

    KOCHKOR - OUR FINAL DAY

    April 13 - Day 16.

We finished our fair in Kochkor village - number sixteen, week three. The fair was held on a local stadium with a magnificent view of white tops of the mountains. On  one side of the stadium the Kochkor staff created a huge  Kompanion logo laid with white stones. The stadium administration allowed us to leave  after the fair as a gesture of thanks for the  rebuilt toilet we donated.

    WE MET YAKS IN NARYN

     April 12 - Day 15.

Naryn is a remote town with an elevation of 2000 meters. The spring is rainy here and this morning was no exception: grey and gloomy. By the time people started to arrive at the fair the sun came out through the clouds. But the weather saved its most unexpected surprise only for the end of the concert.

    UNEXPECTED ART IN BALYKCHI

    April 9 - Day 13.

Balykchi is the first town in Issyk-Kul region as you leave Bishkek. The name means Fisherman in the Kyrgyz language. In the mid-1880s, a retired Russian soldier organized a fishing farm in this area. Soon it grew up into the settlement and was named Rybachie, a Russian variant for Balykchi. The town was renamed after the demise of Soviet Union.

    HELP THE HOMELESS

Everyone in trouble needs a helping hand. For homeless people life has particular challenges: survival through poor weather, difficulty in communicating, and society’s intolerance or blindness. It is not easy to find someone whom you can ask for help or who can simply listen.
