Bank Kompanion Organizes Schoolchildren’s Tour to the Numismatic Museum of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic

April 15, 2025

On April 15, as part of Global Money Week, Bank Kompanion organized an educational tour for schoolchildrento the Numismatic Museum of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Founded in 1998, the museum has become a unique repository of the history of the Kyrgyz som and the country's monetary circulation. The exhibitions cover the journey of the national currency from its introduction to the present day and showcase rare coins from the era of the Great Silk Road, commemorative and collectible coins, gold bars, and much more.

During the visit, schoolchildren learned how national currency is produced and disposed of, explored banknotes from around the world, and became familiar with the educational program "The Som – The Simbol of Kyrgyzstan". The tour was held in a warm, interactive atmosphere — schoolchildren asked lots of questions, took photos, and shared their impressions.

Bank Kompanion’s experts also introduced schoolchildren to the basics of financial literacy and anti-fraud awareness — explaining how to protect money, avoid scams, and safely use banking products.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic for their hospitality and for delivering such an engaging and informative tour!

Bank Kompanion remains committed to advancing financial literacy among young people and continues to support educational initiatives that promote responsible money management and respect for the history of the national currency.
