Bank Kompanion Participated in the Closing Event of the GIZ Green Economy Programme

On May 26, 2026, Bank Kompanion participated in the official closing event of the “Green Economy and Sustainable Private Sector Development” Programme implemented by GIZ with co-financing from the European Union and the Governments of Switzerland and Germany.

The event was held at Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn and brought together representatives of government institutions, international organizations, the financial sector, businesses, and the expert community.

As part of the event, programme partners were officially recognized for their contribution to advancing green economy principles and sustainable development in Kyrgyzstan.

Bank Kompanion received a Letter of Appreciation from the “Green Economy and Sustainable Private Sector Development in the Kyrgyz Republic” Programme for its fruitful cooperation and contribution to the implementation of sustainable development and green finance initiatives.

The letter particularly highlighted the Bank’s contribution to promoting sustainable economic growth, supporting green initiatives, and strengthening partnerships aimed at achieving shared sustainable development goals.

Participants also explored the programme’s key achievements through immersive thematic pavilions dedicated to:

• green policy and economic modelling;

• green finance;

• sustainable agriculture and farming practices;

• sustainable tourism;

• green education;

• communication for social and behavioural change;

• the Green Innovation Fund and other focus areas.
