Easy money online can lead to serious consequences: what is dropping?

Recently, fraudsters have increasingly been involving young people aged 18–25 in illegal financial schemes. This often happens through “easy money” offers on Telegram channels, social media, or messaging apps.
These offers may look harmless:
“receive a transfer”, “send money via QR”, “rent out your bank card”, or “help with transfers for a commission”.
In reality, this may be dropper activity.

Who is a dropper?
A dropper is a person who provides their bank card, account, or access to a mobile banking app to other individuals to conduct financial transactions.
Through such accounts, criminals transfer and cash out money obtained through fraudulent activities.

How fraudsters operate
The scheme often looks like this:
1. Online ads promise quick earnings with no experience required
2. You are asked to use your bank card or send money via a QR code
3. A reward is promised for completing “simple tasks”
In reality, the person becomes part of a fraudulent scheme.

Possible consequences
Sharing your bank card or participating in such transactions may lead to serious consequences:
• blocking of your bank account
• investigation of transactions
• loss of money
• possible criminal liability

Remember: a bank card is intended for personal use only.

How to protect yourself
To avoid becoming part of a fraudulent scheme:
• never give your card or banking details to others
• do not share login credentials, passwords, or SMS verification codes
• avoid “easy money” offers involving money transfers
• do not send money via QR codes at the request of strangers
If you receive such an offer, the safest decision is to refuse.
Remember: if earning money looks too easy, it may be a scam.
