IFAD Project Trainings -2026: Practical Tools for Migrant Families

March 3, 2026

Regional Agents of Bank Kompanion Launch IFAD Project Trainings: Practical Tools for Migrant Families

    The first training sessions of 2026 were held in the Chui region for labor migrants and their family members as part of a project implemented by Bank Kompanion in partnership with the
International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

    The trainings took place in the villages of Nizhnechuysk and Malovodnoe and brought together more than 50 participants. The sessions were conducted by the Bank’s regional agents together with representatives of the Chui branch and the Agency Network Development Department. The format focused on practical solutions, allowing participants to analyze real financial situations.

Practical outcomes for participants
    During the sessions, participants explored practical tools that enable them to:
 - safely receive and send money transfers in digital format;
 - reduce transaction time and commissions;
 - monitor incoming funds via the mobile application;
 - plan household expenses considering regular remittances;
 - minimize fraud risks.

    Special attention was given to digital security: how to distinguish official services from fraudulent schemes, why confirmation codes must not be shared, and how to protect funds when using mobile financial services.
Participants also received guidance on building a financial safety cushion, allocating remittances between current expenses and savings, and using cashless instruments in everyday life.

    Focus on accessibility and digital solutions
    The project aims to expand access to modern financial services in the regions of Kyrgyzstan. For many families, regular remittances are a primary source of income. Managing these funds through digital channels makes the process more transparent, efficient, and secure.
Bank Kompanion continues to promote financial inclusion by strengthening its regional agency network and ensuring access to banking services regardless of clients’ location. Partnership with IFAD enables the Bank to scale this initiative and enhance practical support for migrant families.
The training sessions are open to all interested participants and are part of the Bank’s systematic efforts to improve financial literacy and support sustainable development of regional communities. The trainings will continue across all regions of the country.
