BANK KOMPANION COMPLETES STRATEGIC SHAREHOLDER TRANSITION, ENTERS NEW PHASE OF ACCELERATED GROWTH
Bank Kompanion is pleased to announce the successful completion of its shareholder transition, marking the conclusion of a transformative investment cycle and the beginning of a new chapter focused on strengthened capital, enhanced digital capabilities, and greater value creation for clients and partners.
Founded in 2004 with the support of Mercy Corps, Kompanion began its journey as MFI Kompanion and quickly grew into one of Kyrgyzstan’s leading microfinance institutions. In 2015, FMO, the Dutch entrepreneurial development Bank and Triodos Investment Management, through Triodos Microfinance Fund and Triodos Fair Share Fund, became key shareholders, providing strategic guidance and international expertise that supported the Bank’s evolution into a full-service commercial bank. Through this strong partnership, Bank Kompanion has strengthened its financial position, expanded its client base through modern digital channels, diversified its product portfolio, and established a sustainable foundation for long-term growth. Today, the Bank confidently ranks among the top eight banks in the Kyrgyz Republic. In line with their investment strategies, the shareholders — Mercy Corps, FMO, the Dutch entrepreneurial development Bank, and Triodos Investment Management — have successfully completed their investment cycle.
As of November 14, 2025, 100% of Bank Kompanion has been acquired by Solaris Finance Limited, a strategic partner of ROX Group, a diversified global conglomerate with presence across banking and financial services, renewable energy, and real estate. Solaris Finance Limited with committed backing of ROX Group will provide Bank Kompanion with a stronger capital base to support expansion and access to international banking expertise across corporate, SME, and retail segments. The Bank will also benefit from advanced digital banking capabilities drawing on the experience of one of the fastest growing Southeast Asian digital banking platforms serving over 6 million customers; significantly increasing its capacity to accelerate digital transformation and introduce innovative customer centric solutions.
By combining Kompanion’s deep local knowledge and strong community presence with global financial strength and technological expertise of its partner, the Bank will continue to deliver trusted, high-quality services while expanding higher-valued offerings for individuals and businesses across the Kyrgyz Republic and the broader Central Asian region.
