BANK KOMPANION PARTICIPATED IN THE OFFICIAL CLOSURE OF THE ESG AND SUSTAINABLE FINANCE IMPLEMENTATION PROJECT IN KYRGYZSTAN​

On 14 November 2025, Bishkek hosted the official closing ceremony of the “Sustainable Private Sector Development in Kyrgyzstan” project implemented by German Sparkassenstiftung. The project was part of the “Green Economy and Sustainable Private Sector Development in the Kyrgyz Republic” programme implemented by GIZ with co-financing from the Government of Germany (BMZ), the European Union, and the Government of Switzerland.

Bank Kompanion was one of the key partners of the project and presented the results of its work on integrating sustainable finance tools, including the ESG Risk Radar and the Sustainable Finance Compass.

Using these tools, Bank Kompanion conducted an internal assessment of ESG risks within its credit portfolio, identified priority development areas, designed a roadmap for sustainable finance implementation until 2030, and strengthened staff competencies in sustainable finance and ESG management.

At the ceremony, the bank was represented by Kymbat Zhanyshova, Sustainability Manager, who stated:
“ESG approaches help us enhance transparency, manage risks more effectively, and at the same time amplify the social and environmental impact of our projects. We appreciate the opportunity to strengthen our team’s expertise and integrate international best practices in sustainable finance into the Bank’s operations. Sustainable finance not only contributes to the development of the Bank, but also creates positive impact for the country. The knowledge and tools we have gained will enable us to support sustainable business models, stimulate green growth, and foster practices that generate long-term value for communities across Kyrgyzstan.”
