WARNING: FRAUDSTERS IMPERSONATING MOBILE OPERATORS GAIN ACCESS TO COMPANY ACCOUNTS

Fraudsters are actively targeting business owners and entrepreneurs. Their goal is to access internet banking and withdraw funds from company accounts.

How the scheme works:

— Calls via WhatsApp/Telegram posing as a mobile operator;

— Claims that the SIM card has expired;

— Creates urgency to “renew” it;

— Requests screen sharing or device access;

— Mentions a “system update”;

— Gains control over the device;

— Accesses internet banking;

— Transfers funds.

Why it works:

— trust in “official” calls;

— urgency pressure;

— sharing device access;

— storing passwords on the phone.

How to protect your business:

— Do not trust incoming calls;

— Never share your screen or give device access;

— Do not store passwords on your phone;

— Never share OTP codes;

— If suspicious, turn off internet and device immediately;

— Contact your bank urgently and change passwords;

— Educate your employees.

Remember:

Any request for urgent action, access, or codes is a reason to stop and verify.

Your security starts with awareness.
